Square Enix will make announcements regarding the 25thanniversary of Final Fantasy 7 next month.
That’s according to directorTetsuya Nomura, who shared the news during aJapanese live streamfocused on the mobile battle royale Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier on Wednesday.

It’s possible June’s announcements could include the reveal ofFinal Fantasy 7 RemakePart 2, sinceSquare Enixhaspreviously indicatedthat it would like to share details on the sequel during this anniversary year.
2022 is not only a milestone year for Final Fantasy VII, but also the series itself, and publisher Square Enixrecently saidit intends to release several new games this year but that its plans are centred around its most high-profile franchise.

Final Fantasy XVI producerNaoki Yoshidahas also said that a new trailer for that gamewill be released soon.
Few details have been revealed on FF7 Remake Part 2 so far, other than confirmation last year thatNaoki Hamaguchi, the co-director of FF7 Remake Part 1,will take over full directing dutiesfor the follow up as Tetsuya Nomura takes on a broader creative director position.

Nomura has also said that, compared to last year’s Intergrade re-release, thatPart 2 will make more use of PlayStation 5’s unique hardware features.
Square Enix recentlylaunched a Final Fantasy 35th anniversary site, which is teasing that news of future games is on the way.

“In this 35th anniversary year, we will be bringing you many exciting new ways to enjoy the worlds of Final Fantasy”, the site says.
