Epic Games has said its Fortnite racing game, Rocket Racing, is ending themed updates, less than a year after it launched.
In thepatch notesfor its latest release, Epic said: “v31.40 brings the theme back to the starting line as we say goodbye to Inferno Island and themed updates”.

It added: “Future updates will be taking new roads with refreshed Ranked periods, renewed Quests, and additional Car items you may take to the track!”
The company notes that new tracks from creators “are releasing every day” for players looking for new content to try out.

Developed byRocket LeaguestudioPsyonix, Rocket Racing is billed as “a supersonic arcade racer where players drift, fly, and boost with friends through an ever-growing selection of tracks”.
The racing game was one of three new games released insideFortnitelast December, alongside Lego Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival. At the time, Epicsaidthe three games were not limited modes, but “here to stay – with regular updates”.
