Enotria: The Last Song studio says the Xbox version is indefinitely delayed due to ‘lack of communication’

“Enotria has been a passion project of ours for years, and we cannot wait to see you bring the fight to the Authors to put a finite end to the twisted eternal play, Canovaccio,” the statement reads.

“But even in the beautifully detailed world of Enotria, there is bound to be some darkness. Unfortunately, at this time, we have to announce an indefinite delay of the Xbox version.

“We understand how disappointing this news is to the Xbox community. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts and the hard work of our dedicated team, we’ve encountered challenges that have delayed our release on the Xbox platform. We want to emphasise that this is not a decision we’ve made lightly.”

While the statement didn’t initially explain the reason for the delay in detail, some started to speculate that it may have been down to difficulties in porting the game toXbox Series S, an issue that has affected some games in the past due to Xbox’s typical insistence that Series X games are released on Series S too.

However, the studio then added a further message on X, claiming that the issue was actually what it called a lack of communication on Xbox’s side.

“We believe that Xbox is blessed with a huge gaming community and we would love to release Enotria on your platform as fast as possible, as we spent a lot of money and resources to make it happen, but this task is nearly impossible withMicrosofttaking months to reply to us when we have the game ready for submission,” it wrote.

The studio also made it clear in its replies to other X users that the game’s performance on Xbox Series S is not the issue.

“It’s not a performance issue,” it told one user. “The game works better as expected on Series S, and really good on Series X, but we cannot proceed through the submission process and the reply from Microsoft can take up to 2 months.”

It also refuted claims thatSonyhad given the studio money to make it aPlayStationexclusive.

“Just to clear things out, we’re not paid by Sony and we’re not making a deal with PlayStation,” it wrote. “We tried to get the game out on Xbox with other platforms as well and we spent many resources to do so, but we failed due to lack of communication on their side.”
