Elden Ring is now one of the top 10 best-selling premium games in the history of the US games market based on dollar sales, according to research firm the NPD Group.
FromSoftware‘s critically acclaimed action RPG was the best-selling game in June and has placed first in dollar sales in four of its first five months of availability, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said on Friday.
NPD recently tippedElden Ringto end 2022 as thebest-selling title in the US market.

“Elden Ring will finish as 2022’s best-selling premium game in the US market, marking only the 3rd time since 2009 that a Call of Duty franchise release does not lead the market,” Piscatella said last week.
Elden Ring released on February 25 and hadshipped 13.4 million units worldwideas of March 31, according to publisherBandai Namco.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawas once again the second best-selling title of the month in the US in June.
The highest new entry on the monthly software chart sales wasMario Strikers: Battle LeagueforSwitch, which came in at No.3.
Other new entries includedF1 22at No.12,Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopesat No.16, Sonic Origins at No.17 and The Quarry at No.19.
On the hardware front,PS5generated the highest dollar sales of all consoles in both June and the first half of calendar 2022, while Switch led both time periods based on unit sales.
NPD said total consumer spending on game hardware, content and accessories in June 2022 dropped 11% compared to the same month last year.
