Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons studio Motive is joining Electronic Arts’ wider Battlefield development team.
Motivewill work alongside fellowEAstudiosDICE,Criterion, and Ripple Effect in “building a Battlefield universeacross connected multiplayer experiences and single-player”, the publisher said.

It also confirmed thatBattlefield 2042Season 7 – Turning Point, which launched last month, will be the game’s last.
Motive’s new Battlefield team will be led byDead Spaceremake executive producerPhilippe Ducharmeand creative directorRoman Campos-Oriola.

“Their proven expertise in storytelling, immersive battles and developing on the Frostbite engine uniquely positions them to help advance the vision for Battlefield, led byVince Zampella(EVP, Group GM ofRespawnand Battlefield) and Byron Beede (SVP, GM Battlefield),”saidMotive GM Patrick Klaus.
“In parallel, development continues to move forward on ourIron Man project, led by Olivier Proulx (Executive Producer) andIan Frazier(Creative Director).

“The team made excellent progress this year, hitting a major internal milestone and laying a robust foundation for the journey ahead. Iron Man is an important priority for Motive, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far.”
In terms of Battlefield 2042, franchise general manager Beedesaid“it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future” and shift the company’s resources to new experiences.
