Square Enix has dated its Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, and announced Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake.
The former title, which was originally confirmed back in 2021, will be released on August 01, 2025.

It will be available for forNintendo Switch,PlayStation 5,Xbox Series X/S, andPCviaSteamandMicrosoftStore. Pre-orders for the game are now live.
During aNintendo Directpresentation on Tuesday,Square Enixalso announced Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, which is scheduled for release in 2025.

Chronologically, Dragon Quest 3 comes first in the Erdrick trilogy, followed by Dragon Quest 1 and Dragon Quest 2.
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remakefeatures
HD-2D is the visual style used by Square Enix for a number of its recent RPGs, including theOctopath Travelergames,Triangle Strategyand its remake of Live A Live.
Dragon Quest games have sold over 82 million units worldwide since the first title released in 1986, according to Square Enix.

The last mainline entry in the series was Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, which originally released for 3DS andPS4in Japan in 2017 before making its way west and to other platforms.
