Diablo 4’s release date has been officially confirmed, followingleaksearlier this week.
Blizzardannounced duringThe Game Awardsthat the game will be released on June 09, 2025.

It also announced that players who pre-purchase the game will get early Open Beta access.
“The endless battle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells rages on as chaos threatens to consume Sanctuary,” the game’s official blurb says.

“With ceaseless demons to slaughter, countless abilities to master, nightmarish dungeons, and legendary loot, this vast, open world brings the promise of adventure and devastation. Survive and conquer darkness, or succumb to the shadows.”
Earlier today, ahead of The Game Awards announcement, a new report was published byThe Washington Postwhich not only stated the June 5 release date as fact, but went on to cite numerousDiablo 4developers suggesting that itwill be hard to hit the game’s intended release datewithout notable periods of crunch.

The employees also claim that the game’s development has been affected by gross mismanagement throughout the past five years.
As more information on Diablo 4 has been released, the game’s director and associate game director have consistently stressed that playerswon’t be able to spend real moneyto upgrade their character’s abilities.

It’s understood that there will still be microtransactions of some kind, but they won’t be tied to player progression following the backlash to mobile Diablo Immortal.
