Capcom has announced a June 25 release date for Devil May Cry on Nintendo Switch.
Revealed last month, the game is a remaster of the first entry in the action adventure series, which launched in 2001 and has gone on to sell over 19 million units.

Marking the first time a game in the series has been released on aNintendoplatform, the digital-only title will cost $19.99 and weigh in at 9.2 GB.
The original Devil May Cry was released forPlayStation 2and directed byHideki Kamiya, who went on to helm Okami, Viewtiful Joe andBayonetta.

It centres on the demon hunter Dante, the descendent of a devil race out to avenge the death of his mother.
Devil May Cry famously started life as a fourthResident Evilgame with faster, action-orientated gameplay before director Kamiya convinced his bosses to break off the concept into its own series.

The original game has been remastered forPCand various consoles, most recently via 2018’s Devil May Cry HD Collection forPS4andXbox One.
The most recent series entry,Devil May Cry 5, released in Marchto strong reviewsandshipped two million copiesin a matter of weeks.
