The voice actor behind Adam Jensen in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided claims Eidos asked him to stop talking about the character publicly several years ago.
While some fans have long hoped for a third entry in Jensen’s story, the prospect of that happening has perhaps never seemed more remote.
“Alas, his story seems done,” Toufexis said in aRedditpost last week in which he bid “goodbye, but hopefully not farewell” to the character.
Referencing a recent report which claimedEidos Montrealhadcancelled an unannounced Deus Ex gamethat had been in development for two years, Toufexis also said he was “relatively certain” it “was not an Adam Jensen story”.
And in a follow-upinterview with PCGamesN, the actor claimed he hadn’t heard anything official regarding the future of the character for over seven years.
“Everything I heard past 2016 was unofficial, from friends or acquaintances,” he said. “Even when they [Eidos Montreal] went off and did Guardians of the Galaxy and shelved any sequel, I had to hear about it second hand.
“They didn’t even throw an audition my way. They don’t tell me s***. Everything I’ve heard is from friends off the record, and it ain’t much.

Last month, Eidos Montreal confirmed plans to lay off almost 100 employees. The studio is one of the latest casualties of a wider restructuring plan that saw its parent companyEmbracer Group cut almost 1,400 jobsduring the six months ended in December.
