A Switch user has shared information which sheds more light on Nintendo’s upcoming Switch Online Playtest Program.

The below article contains spoilers: Players who are signed up for the test and don’t wish to know what it entails until it launches should not read on.

Details on the mystery Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program have been shared

The test, whichwas announced earlier this month, is simply named‘Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program’and will take place between October 24 and November 6.

Players who successfully signed up for the mystery test were sent documentation on the program, including a series of requirements for those looking to participate.

One of these is a requirement to keep the contents of the test secret. The page reads: “We request that you do not discuss or disclose content from either theNintendo SwitchOnline: Playtest Program test software or website with others.”

Despite this, X userEthan_ThisGuyhas shared images from the software, which recently received an update.

The images, which have since been deleted but have now started to spread online, show what appears to be an MMO of sorts, in which players work together “to fully develop a massive, expansive planet by utilising creativity and farmed resources”.

“As you progress across the planet, you’ll discover new lands, enemies and resources that will become essential to your journey,” it reads.

Screenshots appear to show a game that looks similar toMinecraft, but with various ‘Beacons’ containing separate play areas, placed on a giant planet. “The higher your Beacon is placed, the wider its Beacon Zone becomes”, the app says.

It also shows a separate area called the Dev Core, which the game describes as “a social hub to gather with other players”. It adds: “At the Dev Core, you can level up your character, get items you will need for your journey, commune with others, and more.”

DespiteNintendo‘s request, it’s likely that more players signed up for the test will share information on it when it officially begins on Wednesday.
