Destruction AllStars studio Lucid Games has announced that it’s working with Rare as a support studio on Sea of Thieves.
The independent Liverpool-based developer confirmed it had teamed up withXbox’sRarein an update on its website and social media channles.

“It’s been incredible supporting them on their thrilling pirate adventure & we can’t wait to see where this legendary voyage will take us,” it said.
Lucid Gameswas formed in 2011 by senior management and ex-staff from Bizarre Creations after parent companyActivisionclosed the Project Gotham Racing, Geometry Wars and Blur studio.

Among other titles, Lucid developed 2014’s Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions and 2021’s poorly received vehicular combat titleDestruction AllStars.
According to its website, Lucid is also currently supporting development ofRespawn’s hit battle royale gameApex Legendsas well as the upcomingEA SportsPGA Tour.

The studio was initiallygiven development duties on Sony’s Twisted Metalvideo game reboot, but the unannounced project was latermoved to PlayStation’s Firesprite studio.
