Bungie’s launch plans for Destiny 2 The Final Shape appear to have been thrown into disarray after some players reportedly gained access to the milestone expansion ahead of its release next week.
According tovariousreports, players were temporarily able to access parts of the expansion overnight, resulting in significant spoilers being shared online.
While the extent of the leak is unclear, andBungiedoesn’t appear to have commented on it officially yet, it’s beenclaimedthat cutscenes, raid items, badges, trophies, story content and more are in the wild.
Following a delay,Destiny2:The Final Shape will be released on June 4.
“The Final Shape is the culmination of the first ten years of Destiny storytelling and, for Guardians everywhere, countless hours spent together,“ according to Bungie.
“Guardian’s will travel into The Pale Heart of the Traveler to aid theVanguardleading to a final confrontation with their ultimate adversary, the Witness.”
Followingdeclining Destiny 2 player numbersandlayoffs at Bungie, the studio reportedlyhas a lot riding on The Final Shape.
It was claimed in December that Bungie’s position as an independent subsidiary ofSony Interactive Entertainmentwas under threat.
