A new Dead Island 2 gameplay showcase has shown off new gameplay, including how the player can use their infection to utilise zombie powers.
The showcase, which also featured a live-action trailer for the game, showed off some of the new weapons included in the game, such as burning katanas. Players will be able to upgrade these weapons throughout their time with the game.
The game, which takes place in California will see players visit Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Hollywood Hills.
It was also announced that players will be able to control the game using Alexa GameControl. This allows players to perform in-game actions using their voices. This will be available to players onXboxandPC, in English in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
A special edition, known as the HELL-A edition, was also detailed as part of the showcase.

Most recentlyscheduled for release on June 04, 2025, the game will now launch on April 28 forPS5,PS4,Xbox Series X/S,Xbox One,Stadia, and PC via theEpic Games Store. First announced in 2014, the zombie action RPG sequel has suffered a series of delays and changes of developer.
Dead Island 2 takes place in Los Angeles and features six playable characters.
