THQ Nordic has announced Darksiders Genesis, a top-down action-RPG set for release later this year on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia.
The spin-off of the mainline Darksiders action adventure series is in development at Battle Chasers: Nightwar studio Airship Syndicate.

It’ll see players taking on the role of a new Horseman of the Apocalypse, Strife,IGNreports. THQ says Genesis will feature “intense combat, exploration, puzzle-solving, epic boss battles and serpent holes from heaven to hell”.

Darksiders was created by now defunct studio Vigil Games, with the first title in the series released in 2010. It was acquired by Nordic Games (nowTHQ Nordic) in 2013 following the bankruptcy of THQ.
The series take place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where and angels and demons battle for control of the world. The most recent franchise entry, Darksiders 3, was developed by Gunfire Games and released in November 2018.
