Netflix has announced that Cyberpunk Edgerunners will be released on September 13.
The news was revealed alongside the release of a new trailer for the anime series, which is viewable below.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners is animated by Tokyo-based animation company Studio Trigger.
It’s directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) and features an original score composed byAkira Yamaoka(Silent Hill).
Cyberpunk 2077and The Witcher studioCD Projekt Redis producing the series, which it has been working on since 2018.
According to Netflix’s official blurb: “The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City — a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future.
“Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.”
Netflix released the firstCyberpunk: Edgerunners teaser trailer in June.
CD Projektclaimed in April thatCyberpunk 2077 has sold over 18 million copiessince its December 2020 release.
It also confirmed that is working ona major Cyberpunk 2077 expansion featuring a new storyline.
