Japanese developer and publisher Sunsoft will seemingly be hosting a second presentation next week.
The company, which was prolific during the ’80s and ’90s but has been quiet in recent years, held a presentation in August 2022 called Sunsoft is Back, in which it announced some new games.
Now, as spotted byNoisy Pixel, a second livestream has appeared on the company’sofficial YouTube page.
This second stream, which is titled Sunsoft is Back 2, will go live on April 19 at 11pm PT / April 20 at 2am ET / April 20 at 7am BST.
The first livestream, which can be replayed above, revealed three titles – an action roguelike called Ikki Unite which supports 16 players online, and re-releases of rare Sunsoft NES platformers Gimmick and Ufouria: The Saga.
During the first stream, the host – a virtual character called Sunsoft-Nosuke – noted: “There were honestly a few [announcements] that we couldn’t present today. That one, that one, that one or that one. I couldn’t even unveil the remake.”
It’s possible, then, that this remake could be announced during the second presentation next week.
Sunsoft is the video game division of Japanese electronics manufacturer Sun Corporation. In October 1978, Sunsoft began to develop video games in arcades with two titles, Block Challenger and Block Perfect.
It had several arcade hits in the early 1980s, such as Arabian, Ikki and Kangaroo, and on Aug 03, 2025, it began its relationship withNintendowith the release of its first Famicom title Super Arabian.
Sunsoft is perhaps best known in the west for its Batman title, often known by fans as “Sunsoft Batman”.
In the first presentation, Sunsoft-Nosuke noted: “Sunsoft is known for being a video game developer and publisher for over 40 years, but in the recent few years we were not so active because of grown-up things.
“However, during this period, we were preparing for something.”
