Call of Duty players are facing a familiar frustration this weekend as Vanguard’s cross-platform multiplayer beta appears to have already been targeted by cheaters.

As seen in the social media videos below, less than 48 hours into the console andPCtest, several players already seem to have encountered players using cheats to auto aim on opponents.

Cheaters are already spoiling Call of Duty: Vanguard’s multiplayer beta

Cheating and hacks have been a major issue in recent Call of Duty games, to the extent that a new anti-cheat system isbeing marketed as one of the key featuresofVanguard.

Activisionsays Warzone’s PC anti-cheat system will be introduced later this year, following the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard and a brand new game map.

Activision seems to be confident about the anti-cheat measures it’s planning to introduce, as Call of Duty’s official social accountsopenly taunted “pissed off cheaters” in a videolast month.

In August it was announced thatanother 100,000 players had been bannedfrom Warzone in the game’s latest action. And the recent marketing video warned: “We know what you’re doing. We’re coming for you.”

“This is not a drill: If you cheat, we are coming for you,” the officialCall of Duty Twitter accountwrote. “Banwaves are ongoing, andPCanti-cheat is arriving in Warzone later this year.”

Activision has nowissued over 600,000 Warzone permabanssince the free-to-play shooter launched in March 2020.

It’s been claimed that cheaters banned fromCall of Duty: Warzonewill also be banned from playing Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Warzone’s creative director told VGC in April thathe shares fan frustration over cheatingin the game. Amos Hodge said he was “upset” that cheaters were “ruining some of the best work” he’d ever done.
