Netflix and CD Projekt Red have announced the WitcherCon event for Friday, July 9.
No further details were announced, but it’s likely that the event will reveal new details on The Witcher season 2, which entered production in the UK last year ahead of a planned release in 2021.
Key players from season one will return for season two, including monster hunter Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Cholatra), princess Ciri (Freya Allan) and Jaskier (Joey Batey).
Joining the cast are Kristofer Hivju(Game of Thrones) as Nivellen, Yasen Atour (Young Wallander) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn (Monster) as Vereena, Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Fast and Furious 9) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia and Mecia Simson as Francesca.
Netflixis also making an anime film called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, as well asprequel series Blood Origin. Netflix has confirmed plans to shoot Blood Origin in the UK but hasn’t announced when the series will be released.

It’s also possibleCD Projektcould reveal new details onThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update, which was previously scheduled for release in the second half of 2021.
The next-gen edition ofThe Witcher 3will be released as a standalone purchase forPC,Xbox Series X/SandPlayStation 5, and as a free update for players who already own the game on PC,Xbox OneandPlayStation 4.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S port is beingdeveloped externally by Saber Interactive, the studio behindThe Witcher 3’s Nintendo Switch port, which was acquired byTHQ NordicparentEmbracerearlier this year.
