Players have been taking to Twitter to share photos and videos of their cats watching Stray.
Annapurna and BlueTwelve’s dystopian adventure game was released on Tuesday and its feline protagonist has been grabbing the attention of players’ own pets.

This has resulted in a steady stream of social media posts showing cats transfixed by the game being played on their owners’ TVs.
Such is the frequency of these posts that a Twitter account calledCats Watching Strayhas been set up to try to catalogue the best of them.

One video even shows a cat reaching out to try and strike the cat on the screen, a potentially unsafe practice.
Stray has becomeAnnapurna’s biggest PC launch to date. On its release day theSteamversion comfortably shattered Annapurna’s record for most concurrent users, which had previously been around 8,000 for Twelve Minutes but was eclipsed by Stray’s 62,963.

VGC’sStray reviewcalled it one of Annapurna’s best releases to date.
It concludes: “Stray is a masterclass in environmental design, with one of the most engrossingly detailed game worlds we’ve explored. Like its protagonist it’s a little on the short side, but what’s here will stay with you for a long time. Essential.”
Annapurna is set tohost a product showcaseon July 28, for which it has teased “reveals, announcements, and much more”.
