Call of Duty Warzone look set to add a Sandbox mode, according to new audio dialogue uncovered in the game’s files.
ZestyCODLeakshas posted asix-minute video clipcontaining a host of new dialogue lines that will reportedly be officially added to the game in the near future.
These new lines include references to what appears to be a new Sandbox area, with obstacle courses (“course complete, that’s a personal best”) weapons-free areas (“live fire disabled in safe area”) and vehicle races (“one lap to go”).

As well as the Sandbox mode, the newly leaked audio also includes dialogue that reportedly refers to an upcoming Plague mode, where players have to defeat a horde of zombies before a nuclear bomb drops on Verdansk.
This seemingly ties in with VGC’s report that the current season ofWarzonewill bethe last to take place on the Verdansk map.
Nuclear warheads were uncovered on the Warzone map in February, and this newly leaked audio includes lines such as “last chance to cleanse Verdansk, soldier”, “Verdansk is lost, end it” and “extraction cancelled, nuke inbound for Verdansk”.
According to VGC’s sources, the upcoming explosive in-game event is designed to narratively transition Warzone from theModern Warfareera to a setting more in line with the most recent premium series release,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Last month VGC’s report stated that it was likely that the nuclear warheads recently uncovered on Warzone’s map would be used to trigger the revamp, similar to howFortnite used an in-game event to transition to Chapter 2, with the zombies introduced in the latest season kicking off the countdown. The leaked audio seems to corroborate this.
Call of Duty: Black Ops and Warzone’s Season 3 will start on April 22, according to an in-game counter on the current Battle Pass.

Warzone’s map revamphas been a long time coming. Originally, Verdansk’s 1980s reboot was due to more closely coincide with Black Ops Cold War’s release last November, but several factors have seen its launch timing moved closer to the game’s first anniversary in March 2021.
With anotherpremium Call of Duty game due at the end of the year– which is said to be a newSledgehammertitle partially set during World War II – Warzone likely won’t see a similar revamp to coincide with that game until at least 2022, if at all.
