Activision has announced the basic details of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s in-game economy, which will centre on seasonal Battle Passes and won’t include loot boxes.
Each Battle Pass will have free and premium streams, with players able to see all of the content they are earning or buying.

“All functional content that has an impact on game balance, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked simply by playing the game” and earning COD Points,Activisionsays.
The premium stream andModern Warfare’s in-game store will include cosmetic items that don’t impact game balance.

The game’s first Battle Pass won’t be released until later this year as Activision saysInfinity Wardis currently focusing on the game’s launch and there’s plenty of content available to unlock playing the base game.
“Understandably there are still questions around how the economy will evolve throughout the post-launch, live seasons,” it says. “We recognize this will take time to fully demonstrate. Please know we are committed to delivering a fair system guided by the principles we’ve outlined here, and will continue to monitor feedback and player engagement to help us achieve that goal.”
