Activision is running a free Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer weekend beginning on Friday, August 7 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm UK.
Available for 72 hours, the free weekend trial offers access to a limited portion ofModern Warfare’s multiplayer component accessible through free-to-play gameCall of Duty: Warzone.
It includes 6v6 matches on five multiplayer maps: Shoot House, Shipment and Cheshire Park, plus Season 5 additions Suldal Harbor and Petrov Oil Rig.
A moshpit of multiplayer modes will be available including Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination and Hardpoint.
UPDATE:Activisionhas extended the free Modern Warfare multiplayer weekend until Wednesday, August 12 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm UK.

Activision launchedCall of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5earlier this week. Among other features, it introduced significant map changes for the free-to-play battle royale game and will include a “mid-season event” likely related to the next premium Call of Duty game.
This week Activision gave the clearest indication yetCall of Duty 2020 will be announced via Warzone,as previously reported by VGC.
The publisher confirmed on Tuesday thatCall of Duty Warzone has attracted 75 million playerssince launching in March, and thatTreyarch and Raven Software are developing Call of Duty 2020.
Asked about plans to reveal the game during its second-quarter earnings call, Activision president Robert Kostich said: “All I can say in terms of timing is I expect you’ll be hearing more about this fairly soon.”
He added: “Warzone has caused up to rethink how, when and even where we reveal our upcoming titles, so we can’t wait to share with the community and we think it’s going to be very different and more engaging than anything we’ve ever done before.”
In May Warzone kicked off a meta-game which VGC sources indicated would conclude with the unveiling ofthe next premium Call of Duty game, Black Ops: Cold War.
