Call of Duty Mobile is estimated to have been downloaded 148 million times across iOS and Android devices in the month following its worldwide release on October 1.
The title recorded the second highest launch month downloads of any mobile game in history, according to data fromSensor Tower.
In comparison, record holderPokémon Goachieved 163 million downloads in its first 30 days, despiteNiantic’s game receiving a staggered worldwide rollout.
Call of Duty: MobileoutperformedMario Kart Tour,which was downloaded 123.9 million timesin the month following its September 25 release.
Activision’s shooter also generated more revenue from in-game spending ($53.9 million) thanNintendo’s racer achieved ($37.4 million) in is first month.
Fellow mobile shootersPUBGMobileandFortnitewere downloaded 60.7 million and 35 million times in their respective launch months, during which they generated $3.5 million and $27.1 million respectively.
Activision is preparing to release a pair of heavily requested Call of Duty Mobile features.
In its latest community update, it said a Zombies mode “will be at your fingertips before you know it” whileCall of Duty Mobile controller support will launch “soon”.
Speaking during the company’s third quarter earnings call last week,Activision CEO Bobby Kotick saidthat Call of Duty Mobile was “experiencing one of the industry’s most successful launches ever” and had “more than tripled the franchise’s reach”.
Nintendo presidentShuntaro Furukawasaid during the company’s recent financial results briefing that he expectsMario Kart Tour to achieve “remarkable results”.
