Gearbox has confirmed that Borderlands 3’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S updates will be available when the next-gen consoles launch next month.
ThePS5andXbox Series Xversions of the loot shooter will support 4K and 60FPS, while all next-gen versions will include a new three and four player split-screen mode.

A new two-player vertical split-screen mode will also be made available for current and next-gen consoles.
All add-on content and saves will transition to the next-gen console versions, and users will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version within the same console family at no additional cost.

Additionally, Gearbox has confirmed that cross-platform play will be added in 2021 and that additional paid DLC is coming later this year, which will include an extra skill tree for each Vault Hunter.
Xbox Series X/S launch globally on November 10. ThePlayStation 5 release dateis November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The rest of the world will get the console a week later on November 19.

Gearbox SoftwareCEORandy Pitchfordrecently said he thinks the leap to PS5 and Xbox Series Xwill be the biggest in the history of the console market. While he doesn’t expect this to be evident in next-gen launch titles, he forecast the leap will prove to be even greater than the jump from 2D to 3D was.
