Borderlands 3 has recorded the biggest physical launch week sales of 2019 in the UK.
It took the crown fromPS4exclusiveDays Gone, which released in April.
Borderlands 3sold under half as many boxed copies asBorderlands2 managed in 2012,GI.bizreports.
However, digital sales aren’t included in Ukie/GfK UK chart data, and they’ll account for a significantly larger percentage of the game’s total sales compared to its predecessor’s.

Gears 5, the most high-profile game yet to be madeavailable via Xbox Game Pass, debuted at No.2 on the UK chart following a close battle with fellow new entryeFootball PES 2020.
TheXboxshooter’s physical sales were down approximately 75% compared toGears of War4’s launch week total in 2016. In contrast, the latest entry inKonami’s rebranded football seriesbeatPES 2019‘s opening week sales by 18.5%.

The previous week’s best-seller, NBA2K20, fell to fourth place on the UK chart ahead of new entry Greedfall.
Further down the chart,Daemon X Machinadebuted at No.19 and NHL 20 entered at No.36.
