Bethesda’s long-expected Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake looks set for release sooner than expected.
The Oblivion remake was first mentionedby an alleged developerback in 2023, before beingnamed in a leaked court documentthe same year.

Now, according to noted insiderNatetheHate, the Oblivion remake is set for reveal in the coming weeks – a claim VGC has corroborated with our own sources. Nate claims the game will likely release before June, while sources have told VGC it could arrive as soon as next month.
The Oblivion remake is understood to be developed byVirtuos. Established in 2004, Virtuos is one of the largest game makers in the world. It focuses on supporting the development of major triple-A games or bringing existing titles to new platforms.

The company has previously worked on franchises including Call of Duty, Tomb Raider,Dark Souls, BioShock, Battlefield,Uncharted, and Horizon, and is currently supportingKonami’s development of theMetal Gear Solid 3 remake.
The Oblivion remake isreportedly“fully remade” with Unreal Engine 5, with six reworked gameplay systems: stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction and HUD.

Improvements to the game’s blocking system have reportedly been inspired by Souls-like games, while sneak icons are now highlighted in the new system, according toMP1ST.
“The stamina system was modified to be less frustrating for the player, making the knockdown that occurs when stamina is depleted more difficult to activate through changes in calculation methods,” the publication claimed.

“The HUD was changed to make it easier to understand and more aesthetically appealing to young players. Hit reactions were also added to improve the response to damage inflicted on the player and NPCs. Finally, Archery was improved to make it more playable and modern in both third and first-person viewpoints.”
VGCreported back in October 2021that Virtuos was working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.

The report was finally confirmed in May 2023, whenKonamiofficially announced that Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eaterwill release forPlayStation 5,Xbox Series X|SandPC. It later confirmed that Virtuos was co-developing the game.
