Electronic Arts has upgraded the digital standard edition of Battlefield 2042 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to include a last-gen version of the game too.

The ‘Cross-Gen Bundle’ feature, which offers players digital access toBattlefield 2042on both thePS4andPS5, or onXbox OneandXbox Series X/S, was previously restricted to the pricier Gold and Ultimate editions of the game.

The standard digital version of Battlefield 2042 costs £59.99 / $59.99 for Xbox One and PS4 and £69.99 / $69.99 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Today’s announcement means PS4 and Xbox One players planning to buy the newer consoles in the future can pay £10 / $10 extra now to receive access to the game on both generations within their chosen console family.

The multiplayer-only game will support 128-player battles on newer consoles andPC, while the Xbox One and PS4 versions will becapped at 64 players and include reduced map sizes.
