DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play libraries in the near future.
While a Season 3 launch date has yet to be confirmed,Season 2 started in late Augustand is drawing to a close.

Free Battlefield 2042 access periods on all platforms are also planned for December.
Xboxplayers will be able to sample the title free of charge from December 1-4,Steamplayers from Dec 1-5, andPlayStationplayers from December 16-23.

While publisher EA had previously committed to releasing four seasons of live service content for Battlefield 2042 over the course of a year,DICEsaid today that more content is on the way too.
“We’re already in pre-production on new content that will come after Season 4 next year,” the studio revealed.

Season 3, which is titled Escalation, will be revealed fully later this month. In response to Battlefield 2042’s “polarising” Specialists,it will introduce a class systemin early 2023 with the game’s 3.2 update.
“In seasons three and four we’ll continue to bring evolved versions of our existing maps from launch,” DICE also said. “You’re already playing these reworked versions of Kaleidoscope, Renewal and Orbital, and in Season 3 you’ll get to play on new versions of Manifest and Breakaway.”
