EA is in “advanced negotiations” to bring Apex Legends to mobile and the Chinese market, it revealed during its latest earnings call.
The publisher said it was “overjoyed” with the performance of theRespawnbattle royale game, which has become the fastest growing new title in its history with over 50 million players.

However,EAechoedrecent sentimentfrom the game’s developer, that it’s explosive growth has caused unexpected problems for the studio.

Respawn has had to “learn a lot of stuff” related to matchmaking, cheating and content creation in the free-to-play title’s first months, EA said.
However, Respawn still has “big and robust plans” for new content, it added, and the first details of the game’s second season will be revealed at EA Play on June 7.

Apex Legendsseason two will likely kick off at around the end of the company’s current quarter ending June 30 or the start of its next, it said.
“We’re incredibly excited and humbled by the passion that fans around the world have for Apex Legends,” said EA CEOAndrew Wilson.

“We’re now very focused on delivering for this massive global community with a long-term live service, including new seasons with more robust Battle Pass content, new legends, and exciting evolutions to the in-game environment.”
Apex Legends’ first season, Wild Frontier,launched in March 2019. It introduced the game’s first new character, the legend Octane.

In March 2019, Respawn said that Apex Legends hadattracted 50 million playersin its first month of availability.
