A Respawn developer has said the studio could slow down the rate at which new Apex Legends characters are released in the future.

Since the game’s release in 2019, every new season of content has introduced a new playable Legend.

Apex Legends’ next 9 heroes and a new map have seemingly leaked

ButRespawnsenior character designer Devan McGuire toldDexertothe studio could reach a “breaking point” where it’s no longer possible or good for the balance of the game to continue this pattern.

The greater the number of Legends, the harder it to make them “unique, without being overpowered, or too niche”, he explained.

“Whether or not that pattern continues is an ongoing discussion, and it might not be changed, but we don’t want to saturate the pool [of Legends].”

In March, over two years’ worth of newApex Legends content was reportedly leakedfrom a development build. It seemingly revealed nine new Legends, the ‘Divided Moon’ map, plus fresh weapons and heirlooms.
