Microsoft is reportedly planning to show off some upcoming Xbox games during an event on March 26.
ReliableMicrosoftreporter Paul Thurrottclaimedlast month that the platform holder would hold a “what’s new for gaming” event on March 23.
But according toWindows Central’s sources, the event appears to have been pushed back by three days.
The site says it’s “pretty confident” about the event going ahead at the end of this month, adding: “It may be a tech and platform-oriented event with some smaller game announcements, or something more.”
It could include a look at games coming toXboxin 2021 and possibly beyond, according to the report.
Publicising the article on Twitter, Windows Central executive editor Daniel Rubino alsowrote: “No surprise, but April, May, and June 2021 will be big announcement months for Microsoft. Instead of one big event, the company prefers smaller ones where it can keep the momentum going.”

However, Xbox’s marketing boss recently told fansnot to expect events with “world premieres”or major game announcements in the immediate future. The comment was made in response to a press article speculating that Xbox could reveal a newElden Ringtrailer in late March.
Speaking during anXbox and Bethesda roundtable event on Thursday, Microsoft said delivering exclusive games for platforms that support Xbox Game Pass was the primary reason it acquired the Fallout and Elder Scrolls maker.
Asked when consumers will get some information on what the companies have been working on together,Bethesda Softworksglobal marketing and communications VP Erin Losi said “we’ll have something this summer.”
