Resident Evil 5 has been classified for Xbox Series X/S by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB).
With a focus on co-op action gameplay rather than the franchise’s traditional survival horror elements,Resident Evil5 was originally released forPS3,Xbox 360andPCin 2009.

It was rereleased forPS4andXbox Onein 2016, before making its way toNintendo Switchin 2019.
The game’s new ESRBratingwill fuel speculation that another remaster is in the works.

Last month, the ESRB alsoclassified Resident Evil 6 for Xbox Series X/S, suggesting both titles could be coming to current-gen consoles soon.
Resident Evil 6 was originally released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012. Like Resident Evil 5 (andResident Evil 4), it was ported to Xbox One and PS4 in 2016, with graphical enhancements and all previous add-on DLC included, and to Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Over the last six years,Capcomhas released full remakes of Resident Evils 2, 3 and 4, and in 2023 itsaid it was planning to release more series remakes.
The publisher confirmed this month that it’sending service for Resident Evil Re:Verse. The multiplayer game and all DLC will be pulled from stores on March 3, and it will no longer be playable from June 29.
