Over two and a half years since its disastrous launch, Cyberpunk 2077’s Steam user review rating has been upgraded to “very positive.”
At the time of writing, 80% of the 546,249 user reviews for the game are positive, according toValve.
CD Projekt Red’s global community director Marcin Momot highlighted the game’s upgraded review status in a Twitter post thanking players for the positive feedback.
“Cyberpunk 2077Steamreviews are now sitting at ‘Very Positive’ with 80% of all scores being favourable,” hewrote. “Thank you all for acknowledging all the hard work the team has put in over the years since the release!”
The sci-fi RPG was one of the most highly-anticipated games of the last console generation, but things went badly wrong forCD Projektwhen it finally arrived in December 2020.
After three delays, the game released forPCand consoles witha host of technical problems, resulting inrefunds being offered, the gamebeing pulled from the PlayStation Store, and CD Projektfacing lawsuits alleging it misled investorsover the quality of the title.
Following six months of patches designed to improve the game, it returned toSony’s online marketplace in June 2021, when CD Projekt said it believedCyberpunk 2077‘s performance had reached a “satisfying” level.
CD Projekt is currently preparing to launchCyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion in September, which is said to make even more significant improvements to the base game.
