Activision claims to have banned over 27,000 Call of Duty accounts over the weekend.
The company said improved detection systems and fresh security updates are helping it root out bad actors, and that players should expect further ban waves.
The latest wave followed last week’s launch ofModern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3, and coincided witha free multiplayer trialwhich ran from April 4-8.
“#TeamRICOCHET identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems,”Activisionsaid in a statement (viaCharlie Intel).
“The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come.”
Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3includes six new core 6v6 multiplayer maps, with four available since launch and two arriving mid-season.
WarzoneSeason 3’s headline addition isthe return of fan favourite map Rebirth Islandalongside Resurgence mode, which let players respawn as long as one of their teammates is still alive.
Elsewhere, Zombies added a new story mission, a fresh Dark Aether Rift, and a new Warlord in the form of artillery and demolitions expert Rainmaker.
