A development team made up of racing game veterans is working on a 60-player battle royale karting game.
Stampede: Racing Royale is a free-to-play racing game coming toPCviaSteamEarly Access later this year, with console versions planned for the future.

Developed by Sumo Leamington, the game will start with 60 players, who will take part in three-round eliminator events, “culminating in a high-stakes finale to crown the winner”.
It will consist of Stampede Races (which are standard karting races) and Stampede Battles (where players battle in power-up filled arenas).

“Racing games have been at the core ofSumo Digitalsince the company was founded 20 years ago, from Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast to the Sonic &SegaAll-Stars Racing series, and co-development onForza Horizon 5,” development director Paul Hollywood said in a statement.
