A speedrunner has beaten Sekiro: Shadow’s Die Twice blindfolded in just over two hours.
As part of this weekend’s Awesome Games Done Quick event, streamer Mitchriz completed the notoriously difficult game using only audio cues to guide him.

The run, which was so popular that the terms “Sekiro” and “blindfolded” trended on Twitter in both the US and UK, saw thousands of people watch in disbelief as Mitchriz battled his way through bosses that many spent hours on, defeating them in some cases without taking any damage at all.

Mitchriz, who speedrunsSekiro: Shadows Die Twiceoften, actually beat the game in less than two hours while blindfolded at the end of 2021, but this is the first time he has accomplished the feat on such a large stage, as part of the incredibly popular Awesome Games Done Quick charity event.

Also at the event, a player was able to beatStardew Valleyin just 17 minutes. Speedrunner Olenoname managed to finish the game via entering a specific string of item names at the character creation screen in order to trick the game into gifting the player those items early.
The event also announced that it had beaten its personal best for the most total money raised in a single Games Done Quick event.

$3,416,729,85 was raised for Prevent The Cancer Foundation This event also saw the charity beat its records for the fastest to raise $1 million, and $2 million.

This years event was again held online after the group “came to the conclusion that there is still too much danger and uncertainty stemming from COVID-19”. Games Done Quick has now raised over $34 million in the 12 years since it began.
