A new game based on the Shadowman comic book series is currently in development.
Shadowman: Darque Legacy will be the third game based on the comic, which was originally published in 1992 and has since seen over five million copies sold.
The game will be developed by Blowfish Studios and will be released forPS5,Xbox Series X/SandPCin 2024.
“As a conspiracy threatens to overrun the realm of the living, Shadowman must contend with horrifying inhuman entities with challenging melee combat,” the game’s description reads.
“Follow a dark path from the land of the living to the hellish realm of the Deadside as you cross the veil between both. Embody the hero of the dark to traverse the necromantic divide, overcome dastardly obstacles, and silence the terrifying threats lurking within.”
The first game based on the comic was 1999’s Shadow Man, which was released onN64, Dreamcast,PlayStationand PC. It followed Michael LeRoi, one of numerous characters to hold the ‘Shadow Man’ role, as he battled evil forces who were trying to cross from the world of the dead into the world of the living.
It was followed by Shadow Man: 2econd Coming, which was released on PS2 in 2002.
A remastered version of the first game, handled by retro remaster specialistNightdive Studios,was released last yearforPS4,Xbox One,Switchand PC. This new game appears to be unrelated to the previous titles.
