An Elden Ring player has released their own iOS app designed to let players track quests and NPCs in the game.

Shattered Ringaims to address one of the most common complaints aboutFromSoftware‘s latest action RPG, its lack of a quest tracker.

A new iOS app lets players track quests and NPCs in Elden Ring

This was a deliberate design choice rather than an oversight, and some players have said they prefer exploring the game’s world without an ever-growing list of quests weighing on them.

There are, however, a number of players who would prefer to have the sort of quest tracker seen in the majority of other open-world games, and who may find this new app useful.

Elden Ring had the biggest non-FIFA or Call of Duty UK launch since Red Dead 2

Shattered Ring is essentially a database app, which allows users to manually enter the names of NPCs as they encounter them in the game.

They can also enter the location where they encountered them, add notes on any quests they gave out, and toggle whether they’re a merchant.

While the app was designed with Elden Ring in mind, it can technically be used for any RPG that offers side-quests but has no in-game quest tracker.

“I’m not aniOSdeveloper by trade,” the app’s creator Dachary Carey told VGC. “I write documentation for a living.

“But I wanted to enjoy playing this game so badly that I wrote my very first app to solve what I think is a big accessibility barrier for a ton of more casual gamers like myself.”
