Square Enix has announced details of an open beta for Foamstars.
The beta will take place between September 29 and October 31, according toSquare Enix.

“In this game, foam is the ultimate resource,” Square Enix said when the game was initially announced.
“It can be used in multiple ways – to create slippery surfaces that players can use to surf around the arena at high speed; to build terrain, helping players defend from enemy attacks or creating high vantage points to take out opponents; and finally, to foam up the opposition and win the match.”
VGC’s Andy Robinson went hands-on withFoamstarsduringSummer Game Festand said the game was“one of the biggest surprises”of the show.
“While talking about the game with other attendees at the show, it became apparent that Foamstars has the potential to be a bit of a sleeper hit for Square,” our preview read.
“The team-based shooter genre is undoubtedly crowded, but the mechanics in this one could help it stick out if enough players give it a shot.”
