Thursday’s Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase concluded with an extended look at Death Stranding Director’s Cut ahead of its release next month.
Announced during Summer Games Fest Kickoff Livein June, thePS5remaster boasts enhanced visuals and several new features not available in thePS4original.

These include new combat mechanics designed to make battling enemies more enjoyable. Melee attacks have been upgraded, a new Maser gun can be acquired, and players can also find mounted machine guns.
New items include evolved stabilisers with thrusters which reduce the impact of landing when jumping from height, while the cargo catapult can launch cargo over long distances.

Boss battles can now be revisited and fought again repeatedly, with scores sharable in an online ranking system. Players will be able to compete against each other on a new racing track too.
The latest trailer also promises the introduction of “new action-packed delivery missions”, eight fresh tracks available in the game’s music player, and jump ramps enabling players to leap over valleys and perform mid-air tricks.

The originalDeath Strandingwas released for PS4 in November 2019 and forPCin July 2020.Kojima Productions’ debut title hassold through five million copiesglobally, its developer claimed in July.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released for PS5 on September 24.
