1-2-Switch, the Nintendo Switch mini-game collection, is reportedly getting a sequel.
That’s according to previously reliable leaker Zippo, who posted on theirblogthis week claiming that a follow-up to the launch title is in development.

“1-2-Switchis one of the most dull, lifeless, forgettable games I have ever played, and yet, it’s getting a sequel for some reason. It sold well, I think?” they wrote.
1-2-Switch was a minigame collection that highlighted the features of the joy-con controllers, including HD rumble. Minigames included things like shaking the controller to determine how many ice cubes were inside (as determined by rumble) and a wild west duel minigame.

The game was met with mixed to poor reviews, and its score currently sits at 58 onMetacritic.
Despite this,Nintendosold 3.18 million copies of 1-2-Switch by the end of 2019, making it one of the best-selling games on the console at the time.

Insider Emily Rogers recently tweeted that she was “curious to see the critical reception to an upcoming casual game,” adding: “I doubt this sequel will win over many new fans.”

In its latest financial results published last week, Nintendo saidSwitch has become its best-selling home console in history.
The console has shipped over 103 million units – surpassing Wii’s 101 million total – of which 98 million had been used at least once in the past year.

Nintendo stated last May thatinvestment in Switch’s successorhad contributed to a record annual research and development spend at the company.
And during its previous financial results briefing in November, Nintendo said it was still internallydiscussing the concept and launch timing for its next gaming system.
