Respawn has apologised to Apex Legends players who have experienced account resets and lost progress after the studio “messed up” a recent game update. Several hours later it released an update targeting the problem. It said anyone logging in from this time would not experience any lost progress or content....

A number of Scottish developers and publishers have joined forces to launch a charity sale on Steam. The Scottish Games Saleruns until September 14 and includes more than 50 games, all of which have been discounted to raise funds for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Sony has filed a patent for ‘Direct Gameplay’, a likely PS5 feature that will allow players to jump into specific parts of games straight from the console’s home menu.
