Bethesda has issued a strongly worded statement in response to allegations levelled at Id Software by Doom Eternal composer Mick Gordon. Gordon alleged last weekthat he had been falsely accused by Id Software’s studio directorMarty Strattonof being responsible for the failure ofDoom Eternal‘s official soundtrack. Gordon published a14,000-word statementin which he said was “exercising [his] right to defend [himself]” against alengthy 2020 Reddit postin which Stratton had blamed him for the soundtrack’s poor quality....

Layers of Fears, a new horror game in development at Bloober Team, has been announced. The “psychedelic horror chronicle” will release in early 2023 onPS5,PCandXboxSeries consoles. Activision has announced a Call of Duty: Mobile release date of July 03, 2025. CD Projekt Red has decided to make Cyberpunk 2077 “100% first person”, it’s said. The developer told VGC in a statement that it believes the sci-fi RPG will benefit greatly from the decision to focus on a first-person view, both in terms of gameplay and storytelling. However, players will still be able to view their character in the game’s inventory screen, during driving sequences, in mirrors and in “some of the cut-scenes”, it said....

The producer of the Dino Crisis series has confirmed that he’s working on Exoprimal. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) won’t be holding a digital version of E3 2020, it’s been confirmed. This year’s E3 was officially cancelledin March amid concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
