Sega has delayed the console release of strategy game Humankind indefinitely. It said thePS4,PS5,Xbox OneandXbox Series X/Sversions of the game have been pushed back until further notice “due to some unique challenges”. The console versions are in development atSega-ownedAmplitude Studiosand Aspyr. Customers who have pre-purchased the game on digital storefronts will receive refunds “where applicable in line with platform policy”. Sony has removed an interview with Neil Druckmann due to what it calls “significant errors and inaccuracies.” Last week,Sonypublished an interview with theNaughty Dogdesigner on its website, in whichhe was quoted as saying that his next title could “redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming”. A class-action lawsuit has been brought against Sony Interactive Entertainment over alleged PlayStation 5 DualSense controller drift. The lawsuit was filed by Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith (CSK&D)—the law firm which brought the first class-action lawsuit againstNintendooverSwitchJoy-Con drift—on February 12 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. The action was brought againstSonyby Virginia-based plaintiff Lmarc Turner, “individually, and on behalf of all others similarly situated”....

A Sony Interactive Entertainment patent has revealed images of a new DualShock controller with additional buttons. Filed in June 2019 and approved and included in the World Intellectual Property Organization database in December, the utility patent (viaLetsGoDigital) includes images showing a DualShock controller with extra rear buttons and noPlayStationbutton on the front. There are two additional buttons on the back left of the controller and two on the back right, all said to be easily accessible with the user’s middle fingers....

Not every original PlayStation and PSP game will offer Trophies as part of the revamped PlayStation Plus offering, Sony has revealed. South of Midnight developer Compulsion Games has said its role at Xbox “is not to make blockbusters like Call of Duty”, as it shares an early player milestone for the action adventure game. South of Midnightwas released forXboxconsoles andPC, including Xbox Game Pass, on April 8, and according toCompulsion GamesCEO Guillaume Provost, the game has attracted more than one million players in its first three weeks. It’s unclear how many of these one million players have come from Game Pass versus full sales, but South of Midnight’speak Steam player countof just 1,483 suggests most have come via subscription....

Splatoon 3 Splatfest kicks off later this week with the fan favourite mode returning to the game with a new twist. This time, three teams will battle it out for supremacy. Splatfests happen every few weeks in-game. These events see players acrossSplatoon 3pick a side and battle for conch shells. The start of the Splatfest will see players compete in standard Turf Wars, but later in the event, a new mode, exclusive to Splatoon 3, the Tricolor Turf War will begin....
