Electronic Arts has released a new trailer for Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The third-person action-adventure game is being directed by formerGod of War3 creative directorStig Asmussen, with a narrative created byAaron Contreras(Mafia III) andChris Avellone(Knight of the Old Republic 2). It sees players take on the role of young Padawan Cal Kestis, who is played by Shameless and Gotham actor Cameron Monaghan. As he attempts to complete his training and master the art of the lightsaber, he’s pursued by chief villain the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, and the Purge Troopers, special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi....

Activision has launched Call of Duty Mobile Season 7, Radioactive Agent. Key features of the new season at launch include an expanded battle royale map, the addition of a tank to battle royale, plus new multiplayer map Tunisia, which is a Mediterranean village featuring tight alleys and open courtyards. The size of the battle royale map has been increased by about a third with the addition of the following new areaspreviously shown off in a trailer: Black Market, Harbor, Downtown, Sanitarium, Ski Town, Heat, and Frigid Wetlands....

Infinity Ward has delayed the deployment of a Call of Duty Warzone update which wasdue to have gone live in the past few hours. In a statement published on Twitter, the developer did not give a reason for the postponement but said it would attempt to redeploy the update in “the coming days”. The game update was due to add, among other things, new weapons and a character to Warzone....

Capcom is not interested in acquiring any new studios, nor is it interested in being aquired itself, its COO has said. In an interview withBloomberg,CapcomCOO Haruhito Tsujimoto was asked what the company’s stance was when it comes to mergers and acquisitions. “I think there have been many merger and acquisition talks in the game industry,” Tsujimoto replied. “There was once a time we were a target, but rather than acquiring an outside company, we prefer organic growth....

CD Projekt Red has announced that it will be laying off nearly 10% of its staff in the coming months. In an‘organisational update’ messageposted on the studio’s official website,CD ProjektCEOAdam Kicińskistates that the company wants to have “teams that are more agile and more effective” and that after analysing the teams in the company the decision has been made that some are no longer needed. “We’ve carefully assessed all teams in the company in terms of their expected contribution to the delivery of our strategy,” Kiciński writes....

The console version of Cities: Skylines 2 has been delayed. Announced in March, Cities: Skylines 2 is coming toPS5,PCandXbox Series X/S(including Game Pass). However, a joint statement by developer Colossal Order and publisherParadox Interactiveconfirms that while the PC version is still set to release on October 24, the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions aren’t ready yet. “Hello city building enthusiasts”, the statement reads. “Sharing an update with you on the upcoming launch for Cities: Skylines II....

Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a resurgence of players on PC, following a recent patch, discount and the launch of Netflix series Edgerunners. According toSteamDB data(first reported byEurogamer), theCD Projekt Redtitle peaked at around 50,000 concurrent players on Saturday – a figure that was still growing at the time of publishing this story. That represents the game’s highest peak concurrent player number since February, when the game’sprevious significant patchwas released. Before that, you’d have to go back to Cyberpunk’s December 2020 launch window for larger player numbers....

Peripheral manufacturer Dbrand has provided customers with an update on its ongoing Switch 2 Killswitch saga, conceding that its initial response was “spectacularly terrible”. Earlier this week the company responded to userswho were claiming that its Killswitch case for theSwitch 2makes it much easier to accidentally detach the Joy-Cons. After initially explaining that the reason for this was because its Joy-Con grips fill a gap deliberately created byNintendoto make detaching the Joy-Cons harder, Dbrand then took to Reddit to state that “nobody routinely holds their Switch 2 like this,” and suggested that some players were “actively trying to” make it happen....

Disintegration is the latest game from Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, an RTS-meets-FPS that feels like a return to the early origins of Bungie’s franchise. The game, which is being worked on bya team of 30 people at V1 Interactive, centres on piloting hovering, weaponised vehicles called gravcycles (there are multiple class types), while simultaneously commanding up to four AI-controlled ground soldiers. Disney Games has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of former Blizzard and Ubisoft veterans. It has also promoted a number of long-serving gaming executives, including boss Sean Shoptaw. Gameloft has announced that Disney Dreamlight Valley’s third major content update, A Festival of Friendship, will launch on February 16. It has also released new artwork for the update (viewable above), which will add Mirabel from Encanto and Olaf from Frozen as new characters. A Festival of Friendship will also extend the main story, explore the Frosted Heights biome, and add a new Star Path (Dreamlight Valley’s battle pass equivalent) themed around Disney’s 100th anniversary....

Nintendo’s latest mobile title, Dr. Mario World has had a solid launch compared to genre rivals, but failed to match the company’s previous performance on smartphones. According to data gathered bySensor Tower, the free-to-play puzzle game – which was released on July 9 – was downloaded by more than two million players in its first three days on sale, generating more than $100,000 via in-app purchases. That is about half of Super Mario Run’siOS-only downloads figure of 4....

Capcom has released a new update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
