The Pokémon Center pop-up store will return to London, England for the 2025 Pokémon Europe International Championships. It’s expected to offer fans the chance to purchase a variety of premium merchandise and exclusive International Championships products not available elsewhere. Taking place at ExCeL London from February 21-23, the International Championships “will award high amounts of Championship Points, direct invitations to the 2025 World Championships, and more than $500,000 USD in prizes, spread across thePokémonTCG, Pokémon video game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon Unite competitions”, according toThe Pokémon Company....

The remake of Resident Evil 4 has enjoyed the second-best launch in the series’ history, according to Capcom. The publisher has claimed that the game sold over 3 million units in its first two days, which if accurate makes it the second-fastest game in the series to hit that milestone. The only game to sell faster was 2012’sResident Evil6, which shipped 4.5 million copies in two days – a company record which lasted untilMonster Hunter: Worldlaunched with 6 million units shipped in 2018....

The Super Bowl ad for The Super Mario Bros movie features a new rendition of the theme music from The Super Mario Bros Super Show. The 1989 Saturday morning cartoon was well-loved forits intro theme, a rap about the Mario Bros and their plumbing abilities. Now the rap has been brought back, and will seemingly be used in the movie as a jingle used by Mario and Luigi in a TV ad for their plumbing business....

Crystal Dynamics has announced that it has laid off several employees. The studio, which is currently working on the next installment in the Tomb Raider franchise, has confirmed that 17 employees have been affected by layoffs. “This morning,Crystal Dynamicsmade the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by 17 talented team members,” read the statement onX. “We did not make this decision lightly. Ultimately, this step was necessary to better align our current business needs and the studio’s future success....

Ubisoft has seemingly hinted at plans to release a new-gen update for Assassin’s Creed Origins imminently. Last August,Ubisoft added 60fps support for 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odysseywhen played onPS5andXbox Series X/Svia backwards compatibility. And in December, the company said it was also“looking into adding 60fps support for Assassin’s Creed Origins”. The UK’s National Health Service has launched the first specialist clinic for game addiction in England. The new Centre for Internet and Gaming Disorders goes live at the same time as the children and young person’s gambling addiction service. Both services will treat children and young adults aged 13-25. GPs will be able to make referrals to both young people’s services, where patients will work with psychiatrists and clinical psychologists to tackle their addictions, beginning in October....

A UK man has been jailed for four months for carrying a 6-inch Master Sword replica in public. 48-year-old Anthony Bray was arrested in Nuneaton, Warwickshire after CCTV operators notified police that he was carrying something in his hand and walking around Nuneaton town centre with it held out in front of him. As Bray approached officers, they saw he was holding a miniature replica of the Master Sword from theLegend of Zeldagames....

Valve has moved to clarify its stance on games with AI-created content, following a recent ban on a title featuring AI-generated artwork. Last week a developer claimed that their game, which featured AI-generated assets allegedly as early templates,was rejected by Valveafter it demanded they prove they owned all the necessary rights used in the data set that trained the AI to create them. An increasing number of developers are using AI to help create their games....

Capcom has given us a look at some new gameplay footage of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake. We’ve put together some of the best bits from the footage and edited it into a highlights package, complete with commentary to point out some of the remake’s new features. The source code for Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Legion has reportedly leaked online. The 560GB source code is currently available for download on several private trackers,DSOGamingreports. By accessing the source code, the site suggests users could enableWatch Dogs Legionmods and work out how to remove the game’s anti-piracy protections. In October, ransomware gang Egregor leaked data it claimed to have obtained from the internal networks of bothUbisoftandCrytek. At the time, the group toldZDNetit had stolen data from Ubisoft and planned to publish the Watch Dogs Legion source code unless the publisher engaged in discussions with it....
