Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka has urged fans not to ‘read too much’ into recent comments, in which he suggested he could use experience gained from the upcoming Frontiers to make Sonic Adventure 3. Sony has said it expects to sell 56% more PS5s during its current financial year compared to the previous period, and claimed that even this won’t satisfy consumer demand. The company announced on Tuesday it hadshipped 11.5 million PS5 consolesduring the FY21 financial year ended March 2022, missing out onits initial target of 14.8 millionconsoles by over 3 million units, which it said was due to parts shortages. Sony has reportedly said it would need to increase the retail price of PlayStation systems should the US government introduce a higher tariff on consoles produced in China.
