After a week of teasing, EA has finally re-released The Sims and The Sims 2, with almost all previous DLC included. The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are rolling out today onPCvia theEAApp,EpicGame Store andSteam. The Sims costs $19.99 and The Sims 2 costs $29.99, but players can buy a 25th Birthday Bundle containing both for $39.99, saving $10. Each game also includes almost all DLC previously released, with the only exception being the IKEA Home Stuff DLC released for The Sims 2 (presumably due to licensing reasons)....

Larian Studios has confirmed that the latest Baldur’s Gate 3 patch will let players change their character’s appearance. The feature hasbeen in the works for some timeand will arrive with the game’s next major update. The patch is “a big one” and is scheduled to launch today, a day later than previously expected, “to ensure through testing”, Lariansaid. The studio recently said it wasintroducing a more rigorous patch testing processfollowing issues with the release of a hotfix which led to a rollback....

The Sunday Times has revealed the UK’s top 30 richest game developers and players. The inaugural edition of theGaming Rich List– a video game themed version of its long-running Rich List – leads with Russian-born brothers Igor and Dmitry Bukhman, with an estimated fortune of £12.5 billion. The pair, who were also placed 27th in the overall Sunday Times Rich List 2024, are the co-founders of Playrix, creators of popular mobile games Township, Fishdom, and Homescapes....

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodhunt, a new free-to-play battle royale game set in the universe of the pen and paper RPG, launches today after several months of early access. Unlike the early launch which only arrived onPC, this 1.0 version comes to both PC andPS5. A stylish and brutal battle royal, players compete against 48 other vampires in solo or trios mode in order to be the last vampire standing, with the help of guns, swords and anything else they can get their hands on....

Call of Duty Warzone developer Raven Software has temporarily removed vehicles from the game’s Rebirth Island map. It said on Monday that it had taken the measure while it looked into an unspecified problem. It’s widely believed that vehicles have been disabled because players had uncovered a way to glitch into Golden Vaults (see video below), which are mysterious locations containing high-level loot. An employee at Chinese studio Virtuos has confirmed it’s working on an “unannounced [triple-A] action adventure game remake”, following VGC’s report that it’s been handed the Metal Gear Solid license. As spotted by VGC reader Faizan Shaikh, Virtuous lead programmer Zhiyang Li mentions the unannounced game on his LinkedIn profile and claims to have worked on it since October 2018. According to his description, the remake will feature “[triple-A] quality level art”, 4K graphics and “set piece destruction”....

Microsoft and Discord have announced the next suite of features coming to Xbox’s Discord integration. Highlights include the ability to watch friends stream directly on theirXbox Series X|SorXbox Oneconsole. If they’re sharing their screen fromPC, mobile, or anotherXbox, they’ll be able to watch whatever they’re playing. Users can also now call their friends directly from Xbox consoles.The update will also unify the Xbox friends list and the Discord friends list, if players opt into it....

Microsoft and CD Projekt have announced two new Xbox controllers to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3. A standardXboxcontroller and an Xbox Elite controller are available now. Both celebrate 10 years since the release ofCD Projekt Red‘s RPG,The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima says too many big-budget video games look the same these days. During an interview with Canadian fashion retailerSSENSE, the interview noted that Kojima “sounds disappointed about the state of his industry”. Kojima explained that while he was watching the mainSummer Game Festpresentation, he felt like every game shown involved the player fighting either an alien or a medieval monster. “Even the visuals and the systems are pretty much the same,” Kojima said, “and a lot of people enjoy this, I understand, but it is important to put something really new in there for the industry....

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has spoken publicly about last month’s decision to close four Bethesda studios. CD Projekt has reportedly confirmed plans to release a Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year edition in 2023.
