Nintendo has released a new update for Metroid Dread which adds three Boss Rush modes. The free update, which brings the game to version 2.1.0, adds a standard Boss Rush mode and two harder variations. The standard Boss Rush mode, which is unlocked once the main game has been cleared, consists of 12 boss fights, one after the other, and players are tasked with trying to beat them all in the quickest time possible....
Microsoft will launch a web-based mobile game store in July, seeking to compete with Apple’s App Store and the Google Play store. Speaking at the Bloomberg Technology Summit on Thursday,Xboxpresident Sarah Bond said the store will be “accessible across all devices, all countries, no matter what, independent of the policies of closed ecosystem stores.” The store will launch withMicrosoft‘s own games and additional content for said games. Of all the characters who could have been added to MultiVersus, we’re pretty sure there weren’t many players who expected to see the Banana Guard. A new Nintendo patent appears to support claims that its Nintendo Switch successor will utilize DLSS-style upscaling technology. A patentfiled in July 2023, but published on Tuesday, describes a system of machine learning that can convert images of one resolution into a higher one. DLSS (deep learning super sampling) or similar technologies work by using AI to upscale the resolution of games, effectively allowing developers to achieve higher graphical settings and better frame rates on weaker hardware....
Sony Interactive Entertainment has completed its acquisition of Haven Studios, the company announced on Monday. It originally confirmed plans tofund an original IP from the studio, which was co-founded byAssassin’s Creedco-creatorJade Raymond, in March 2021. And in March of this year,Sony said it planned to acquire the Canadian game studiofor an undisclosed sum.
