The Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy no longer has a seamless open world, according to a new comparison video. After numerous delays, the game is finally released on Switch today, and Mark Walker of YouTube channelSwitchUphas posted a video showing how it compares to other versions. While the Switch version is clearly less visually detailed than on other, more powerful platforms, Walker says the game “could have been far worse” and that on handheld in particular the game “is running reasonably well”....

US President Donald Trump has partly blamed video games for recent mass shootings and suggested that restrictions should be introduced. Making a statement on Monday following two mass shootings in El Paso and Ohio, the president said the US government “must stop or substantially reduce” access to “gruesome” video games. “We must stop the glorification of violence in our society,” he said. “This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace....

Sony is rolling out the ability for PS5 players to join Discord voice chat directly from their console. It means players will no longer need to rely on the DiscordPCor mobile apps to start the connection. Developer ShiftUp has renamed Project Eve to Stellar Blade. The game, which was last shown off in 2021 received a new trailer showing some of the locations in the game, and giving more information about the plot. “Eve and her comrades land on the surface to reclaim the extinct Earth and cross paths with a survivor named Adam. Eve is then led by Adam to the last surviving city, Xion, where she meets the elder of the town Orcal and is told many stories,” reads a description of the game in a newPlayStation Blog post....

Silent Hill: Ascension looks set to launch on May 29, 2025.
